Get a FREE MAP of Germany when you come on our 2009 tour!
Come join us as we rediscover the rich heritage of Saxony and its region from beautiful cities like Dresden, Erfurt, and Berlin, to the coal mining history and recent ecological rebirth of Bitterfeld, to one ofGermany's most influential garden designers, horticulturists, and writers, Karl Foerster, and to the rich architectural history and refocusing of the Bauhaus school.
In addition we will explore contemporary environmentally friendly, green, sustainable, and progressive designs as found in Wolfgang Oehme's colorful perennial meadow at Amber Lake, Volkswagen's cutting edge glass factory, the fabulously outrageous designed buildings of Viennese artist and architect Hundertwasser, including a mixed use building with roof garden, and a low energy use school.
Most importantly, this tour visits the Federal Garden Show held this year in the beautiful Baltic Coast city of Schwerin. This Olympian of garden shows, held only once every two years in a different city in Germany will show you all aspects of contemporary and progressive designs from dynamic playgrounds, to bold, colorful plantings, to nature themed recreational facilities, to lively water features with some aspect for children, to the display of using plants as renewable resources, to green, dynamic architecture, fun entertainment, and good food.
Since our tours are adventurous and for the young at heart, we include some days of bicycling, for instance around the new lakes of Bitterfeld, and most days include much walking, for instance in a city's pedestrian zone or a special garden.
Our incredible land tour includes:
Great Food, including all breakfasts, six lunches and six dinners, plus snacks, and also vegetarian food options!

Our Unique Tour Is a Great Value:
Our tour offers you an amazing itinerary taking you to places most Americans have never heard about, gives you great value, and our unique tours are small in size with a maximum of twelve participants! Our small size allows us to see places large motorcoach tours can't, and provides the participant with a much more intimate, exciting experience.
Note: This tour is designed for the person with an adventurous spirit and the ability to exercise on some days. The tour will include walking large distances on most days; and on some days swimming and bike riding will be optional. Tour participants should be healthy and fit, and capable of walking several miles each day. This is not a motorcoach tour. The tour will travel in large vans, use public transportation, and walk as necessary. This allows for a more intimate and richer experience with the local people and customs.
